Welcome to our forum Wlee (Willy)! I hope you can join us here in NYC/Long Island trail group rides. It's not as hilly and technical compare to your home trail in NJ but nevertheless trails over here are mostly fast and lots of fun.  Welcome again! |

Hi folks, A total newbie here. I decided to take mountain biking as my sport and fitness. I've been neglecting my health for a few years now. I did buy a "targé" bike before and it generally wasn't a good experience. I promptly sold it and I now decided to get the real one. I just bought a Santa Cruz Superlight from Bike Junkie but I'm still waiting for it's arrival. I am originally from Parañaque, Philippines but now permanently residing in Long Island. I found about this forum after following Merlin's post in the CLIMB forum. I look forward not just to learn more about MBs but to meet new friends as well. Will I race? I'm not sure. All I can think of right now is about getting back into shape. I am also into photography. I have a day job (state worker) but my wife and I sometimes do weddings and such to pay for our expensive hobbies.  I'm hoping to meet you guys in the future. I definitely need a lot of guidance. Hey Brian (islandcapture) welcome again to mtbNYCstyle, just keep checking our forum for future group rides and events. There will be another race on July 11 in NJ and some of us will be there, if you are free try to meet us there. You don't have to race to ride the race course. Actually, this is the best time to try different trails and not get lost as the trail is mark that time, just stay on the side when racers are coming. We hope to meet you too and I'm sure most of the members in this forum will be able to guide you in the right direction. Ride on!
