woooooow!! seems like alot of tribemen going out to race! goodluck to all you guys. Hope you get well by Sunday so you can join us even if you're not going to race. We also need a Senior Team Mechanic on Sunday. ;D Shhhhhhhhh..... I know none of us will probably be able to pre-ride the race course before the race day but I was lurking on Viking's teammate forum and they have a Tymor race course description that we could probably use but don't tell Viking o.k. ;D ;D ;D ;D "Course report from someone who pre rode it last night:Tymor not as technical as Waway. You can hammer the first section (if not wet) lots of roots and twisty turns. Fun on a SS I'm sure. There is one short but steep climb after you cross the first fire road bridge. It drops in left over the bridge and you need to keep your speed through there. A bit of off camber steady climbing after it levels out but than..you cross through the soccer fields in the grass and let the fun begin. First climb is through the fields than it mellows out again for a little recovery, you come out of the woods than back in again for a very steady climb...than the 'wall' Once you get to the top of the ridge, it flows pretty well. I thought over all the course was fun. I don't usually ever use my granny gears but this race, I will be using them a lot... Running an easy gear for this one: 32x20."

Yeah Viking I just want to get the first one out of the way. Remember what I told you Tuesday, you're going to have to take me under your wings. ;D ;D You will have to pedal fast to stay under my wings. ;D Here's a summary from my ride yesterday. So yesterday morning I made a split decision and decided to get in the car and drive up to Tymor. Sorry for not inviting anyone but I had to get rolling. I don't know if I did the race course but I tried to follow a print out of the gps track posted here, and think I managed to follow it. The beginning is pretty flat, tight, twisty and extremely rooty. If it was dry you could probably haul ass here, but the wet roots and greasy trail in combination with my Bontrager XDX was a disaster. Then some double track, a couple of burst climbs and more roots ends the first three miles. Shoot over the grassy area, cross the road and then it's hike a bike time. On this side you have three long steady climbs, broken up by fast sketchy down hills and even sketchier off camber single track. Should be very interesting in the rain! I got myself a pair of specialized Captain Control tires today. Hopefully that will make me stay upright but if somebody think they completely suck - this would be a good time to speak up. I will probably do 32/21 on the 29er

Hey Viking are all the climbs are somewhat similar to some of the climbs we did in Blue, Sprain or Ringwood? Or those hills are flats compare to tymor?
I think Moe have the captains tyres on his Orbea.

thanks for the support of racers, no racers and one half-cat 2 racer . Great BBQ after a tough race. The river of mud and the wall of death is something to remember. Big congratulations to all first time racers! Are you hooked? or never again?
