From the USA Cycling Mountain guidelines: Any Cat 3 racer who registers and competes in a Cat 2 race will be considered a Cat 2 racer. Examples of this include, but are not limited to, racers who "miss" the start of a Cat 3 race and want to do the Cat 2 race. This also includes racers who just want to "try" Cat 2. Once a racer registers and competes in a Cat 2 race, that racer is Cat 2 unless they apply for and receive a downgrade from USA Cycling in writing.no further comments

I just checked the confirmed riders list and without naming names I think I saw a sandbagger................. ;D Good to see you in SS Louie. Not as tough course as last year. Yeah Viking the Dark Side! I just hope cramping won't be a problem this time.

BTW, I'm thinking of pre-riding the race course either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday sometime in the morning, who wants to come? Me and Luis might head up there early Wednesday morning. If you are willing to babysit me on your first lap, I would like to join you. What time you guys planning to be there?

Yeah Viking the Dark Side! I just hope cramping won't be a problem this time. Drink enough before and during the race, and make sure you replenish the electrolytes. Also pick a gear that will work for the second lap too . I will probably run 32x20.

I'll try to scout the race course tomorrow but not sure since I'm afraid to get lost there by myself. Any other tribesmen wants to get lost with me in Blue either tomorrow, Thurs. and Friday in the AM let me know.

Hey bigboy question, is the trail marked already for the race? I wanted to go today but if the trail is not marked yet then there is no point of going there.

I've read the course will not be marked until Saturday but you can use the map Jontot posted in this thread. The map is really easy to follow. Some of the intersections are numbered so you can find yourself Here it is to download and print: www.wmba.org/racemap.html

And, are you doing a training ride or a scouting ride a la smell the roses? If you are going for the latter, I would like to join you if you don't mind. I do need to drop off the kids at school first. Let me know what you're planning.

Viking, What time on Friday were you planning to go? And, are you doing a training ride or a scouting ride a la smell the roses? If you are going for the latter, I would like to join you if you don't mind. I do need to drop off the kids at school first. Let me know what you're planning. We plan to leave before rush hour(6.30-7.00). I was planning on 1 or 2 chill laps and two fast ones. If you can't make it that early we could do the fast ones first and meet in the lot at 9.30ish for a chill lap or some other trails. I can ride with Luis up and with you back in case he has to leave. he also works uptown, so it makes sense. Oh, and by the way, there still time to register
