Hey Bigboy rxr did 5 laps, i did 4, moe 3, jontot 5, i think rachet did 7. How about you how many laps? The pain i was experiencing yesterday was not cramps at all, it was just a lactic build up. =( Never felt that pain before, it was so much pain in my both legs that i can't pedal anymore. I think i need a lot of stretching next time before the race and a handy tylenol or advil. :-)

First of all, thanks to Jon and Moe for the ride to and from the event. It was one wicked race and a great accomplishment for everybody. And RXR, good job on your first race. The event was well organized, the course was well marked and alot of racers showed up. Race recap.. It was a mass start at exactly 9:00. Starting with Cat 1, SS, Cat 2 and Cat 3. The fast group was way ahead of us. I was tailing viking on the second group.. but his chain fell off on the first lap. Then on the second lap, my chain fell off too. I saw 3 SS rider passed by. I did my pitstop on the third lap. water refills, power bars. I was already hurting and cramping. I walked my way up the single hill of the course on my remaining laps.. I was able to pass 2 SS racers.. and then just keep my position coz i cant go any faster.. I crossed the finish line with 6:25 lap hours on my watch.. I did 7 laps, 1 pitstop, 3 crashes, finished 7 bottles of mixed drink, 3 power bars, 8 pills and two pandecoco. I could have been better if more of us guys were there. It was all fun and pain.

To all the tribesmen who participated yesterday’s 6 hours of Cathedral Pines Endurance Event please pat yourself on the back coz we all deserve it. This race should definitely be in our calendar for next year. As what Rachet said, the event was well organize. The park’s atmosphere was great, background music blasting, family and friends cheering, more than 200 racers showed up and at least 20 team’s canopy lined up on the feeding stations. As you can see in one of bigboy’s posted team pictures we put our feeding supplies on the ground besides NYCMTB’s canopy (we missed Tagman’s canopy) My version of the race recap: It was a mass start, we are all lined up like a long train, CAT 1 is in front, Single speeders, CAT 2 and then CAT 3. 5 minutes before the race everyone’s looking around, checking his or her fellow competitors. My game plan was to ride a medium pace. The horn went off and so was my adrenalin and disregarded whatever game plan I planed. I was succumb to sprinting again during the start of the race and tailed Rachet and Viking for at least 10 minutes until the first and only climb of the course. I got stuck in front of one of the geared racer up the climb when he slows down and by the time I managed to passed on his left, Rachet and Viking are way gone and so as my lungs. When all my adrenalins went back to normal, I decided to go back to my game plan, medium pace, steady line and don’t make mistakes. But it wasn’t happening, the course was a little muddy and I was slipping left and right and almost lost my front tire twice. I finished my first lap in less than an hour…I think. I went on to my 2nd lap without stopping for a pit stop. Halfway on my second lap I felt both of my legs starting to throb and whenever I felt that on my legs I know my legs will cramp soon so I decided to slow down a little. Although I slowed down I still managed to passed few racers taking their sweet time. After I passed these three racers I was by myself for at least 15 minutes halfway on my second lap when I saw an orange jersey just blew passed me. That was Bigboy just passed me and he shouted, “I want to be in the camera too!” I shouted back, “don’t go too fast if you want to be in the camera!” I kept up with Bigboy for at least 5 minutes and then I felt my legs throbbed again and slow down. At this time, I’m just waiting for AkaGC, RXR and Ewin to catch up to me. Second lap completed and went for my first pit stop. Refilled my water bottle, ate a banana and popped 4 capsule of endurolytes and did a little stretching. As I was doing all of these, I saw Erwin and RXR on the other side of our pit stop just finishing their 2nd lap. Off I went on my 3rd lap. I was confident that those endurolytes I just popped will take care the throbbing of my legs I decided to push myself a little more. As soon as I got to the only climb on the course on my third lap, BAMM!!! Both my legs just locked and almost wiped out. I stood on the top of the hill for five minutes in pain and tried my best to stretch my legs. As soon as I felt better I went and finished my third lap. My fourth lap was the same, I cramped on the hill and rest for a few minutes. After I finished my fourth lap I saw AKAGc on the sideline and found out that he was already done at 3 laps and he mentioned that Viking too already stop. I refueled and left for my fifth lap. Fifth lap, at this time I was so exhausted that I just want to finish this and call it a day. More than halfway on my 5th lap I was so tired that I wasn’t as concentrate as my first couple of laps that I just hit this big tree with my right shoulder and the last thing I know I was picking up my bike on the ground. At this time racers passed me and I passed them back. Forget about my legs, my shoulders, arms, hands, back, hips and ass were all freaking hurting at this time and can’t wait to finish this lap. At approximately 2:12 PM I was on my way to the finish line and finished my 5th lap at 2:14 PM and call it a day! P.S. when I checked my video clip this morning all I saw were dirt road and back tires…Sorry Bigboy no video again. I’ll post a little video clip I can salvage. But there were few photographers taking pictures so hopefully we have some good action photos. I did NOT see MERLIN yesterday but I according to his post on CLIMB board he was there brought some donuts. Again, kudos to all who participated to this event 30, 40, 50 and 60 miles we all did well. And of course our one and only 70 milers on a single speed RACHET we bow to you. Congratulations you're such an inspirational to all of us, keep it up buddy!!! Sorry if this post is way too long. ;D
