Hey. Just got back from Stillwell. The trails were perfect. IF YOU WERE A POLAR BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just did one lap with Alex (Asian guy with fluorescent green Niner FS with his group). Then my finger and toes started to have this burning sensation. FROST BITE!!!! Mind you; I used 2 sets of hand and toe warmers on each!!!!!!! Not fun at all. I now have new parameters when riding. NOTHING BELOW 20 DEGREES!!!!!!!! Period. Hey RXR, for your toes use wool socks (i was told that you need circulation there too) and a big no no for doubling especially cotton socks, plus a shoe cover. For anything below 20 degrees I use my ski gloves and it works just as good for me (actually it is rather warm). I rode with Chute and Merlin for the last three days and the more you're out there the more you get use to it. Hope this helps. PS I also use a light wind breaker on top of my jacket (I just open the zipper when I feel overheating) and most especially you have to have balaclava or ski mask to protect your face from the wind.  |

Hey PH. I was wearing wool socks, pearl izumi wind stopper shoe cover, winter Shimano shoes with a pair of warmers on both feet and hands and a balaclava. I was still frozen. It's always my hands and toes that I have a problem with. One thing I should use though, like you said, is my ski gloves. Probably use that next time. Thanks.

Stillwell is awesome this morning! It is a little cold and windy but I don't think this will stop us from riding. The improvements that we did during trail cleanup sure makes riding a little smoother. It was nice riding with Arnold, Erwin and Louie Sunday. That kid Jacob is bad news. He is only 16yrs old and is getting better each day. Erwin, he did a lap already before we arrive. Kid has lots of juice left. LOL.  The usual suspects |

Very nice riding this morning Cinco! A little cold in the beginning, but did not take long for our temps to go up ;D some pics..... thanks for the pics...beri NICE! yup...my clothing gear yesterday was perfect!!!!! 1st loop was the "getting to know" the trail again.....complaints & excuses here & there  , but then the 2nd loop was different......you got to slow down Prance!!! Oh BTW, the last time we were @ Stilly was 18Sept'10 - ME, you & MikeX. We have to go back again next week.....plan it Oranges! |

Wished I could've met you guys there on Sunday cuz I was actually ready to go but my daughter was sick and my wife asked me to stay home and keep her company so she doesn't get her baby sister sick. Next week then............
