Good News from SS-Polooza organizers the race course is a little shorter than 14 miles (12.75 miles) ;D
Quote from Dark Horse blog; "all i can say is that this is quality stewart riding. some old stuff, some new stuff and some redux stuff.
here is a little teaser. "major Mike" returns with a bad-ass new reroute, we created a new trail called "cedar knob" which utilizes a very unique "feature". an old trail that had fallen out of service comes back into the fray, and the course passes thru one of stewarts older and more unique "structures".
when all is said and done the course comes in at 12.75 miles. yeah its a little short of the 14 we had hoped for but we went quality over quantity. so consider it a gift or a curse or whatever. its what you get!!
we are stoked and hope you are as well."
See you in SS- Polooza and good luck to everyone.

FROM: Singlespeed-a-polooza presented by Darkhorse Cycles ------------------------------------------------- Dear SSAP entrants, as of now the course is hardpacked and extremely fast. In anticipation of some inclement weather we felt it fair to give everyone heads up now as to staging format so we don't drag the race start out on Sunday. We will line the open men up with a top ten call up from last year...top ten returnees according to our records and current entries are...Mike Montalbano...Roger Foco...Joshua Wilcox...James Harmon...Sean Cavanaugh...Robert Stine...Brian Kelley...William Walker Jackson...Doug Jenne...Ramunas Katkus. Behind the open men will be open women and they will start together with the men. Next up, 4 minutes behind will be Sport New Jersey, and 4 minutes behind them will be Sport New York men and sport women who will start together. We will be prizing 10 deep in Open Men, 5 deep in Open Women, 10 deep in both Sport New Jersey and New York, and 5 deep in Sport Women. We have a trophy for DFL if I'm racing i have a chance to get this trophy ;D, a prize for the greatest distance traveled to get here, the oldest racer, and some fantastic schwag. We are paying a $100 bonus to fastest overall Open man and woman, and fastest overall sport man and woman will receive a voucher for a set of Stan's wheels of your choice. Let's Go mtbNYCstyle! We are auctioning off a set of I9 hubs, total proceeds to benefit local animal rescue as well as $5 from every entry going to the same charity. There will be hotdogs, chips, and beer afterwards during the awards, and we will do our extreme best to do the awards in a timely manner. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email George at darkhorsecycles@frontiernet.net so as to avoid any confusion race day. Again, thanks for pre-registering and we'll see you on Sunday.
