What: Poduim Celbration Road trip at one of the most awesome trail in NYS. www.mechamaniac.com/misc/wmba/2_09_besthomegrown.jpgWhere: Blue Mountain, Peekskill NY When: Sunday, August 9, 2009 Wheelsdown: 8:00 AM Why: Because we should be familiar to the next stage in H2H MTB race series. If you want to ride the best home grown trails in NYS here it is, we are going to Blue Mountain this coming Sunday. We will try to ride last year's race course (hopefully with the map) and maybe if we have time, add a little more. Blue Mountain is one of the three place (Ringwood and Jungle habitat) in H2H mtb race series that are considered tough by most of the previous racers( very technical and steep climbs) Note: this will be a no drop behind ride, we will stop and wait on every in intersection or the top of every climbs so for all the fast cat, you have to be patient on this road trip if you decided to come.

Hey jon i'm in. Who else is coming? Can you post some directions? How many miles is the trail?Hopefully it won't rain like what happened at ringwood! Thanks Blue Mountain Reservation is located in Peekskill, NY. It features a range of trails suited for all levels of ability. By Car: From South: Route 9A to 9 North. Exit at Welcher Avenue; turn right and follow to park entrance. From North: Route 9 South. Exit at Welcher Avenue; turn left and follow to park enterance. ______________________________________ Additional directions to Blue Mountain ______________________________________ From the north: Route 84 to Route 9 South (exit 13). Continue South for 25 minutes till you come to Annsville Circle. Stay on Route 9. You will go around the circle and over a bridge, and then a right turn. (This is still Route 9). Take this to Welcher Avenue Exit and at the bottom of the ramp make a left. Continue to 1/4 mile to 4 way intersection and go straight. This is the entrance to Blue Mountain Reservation. From the South NJ: Garden State Parkway to the end. Get on 87 South. Get on Palisades North. Take this to the end. Watch close for left hand exits by 18, make sure you stay on the Palisades. At the end of the Palisades cross the Bear Mountain Bridge. After the bridge make a right and continue along side of the mountain with the Hudson River on your right. At the bottom follow signs for Route 9 South. Take this to Welcher Avenue exit. Make a left at the bottom of the ramp and continue straight through the next intersection. This is the entrance of Blue Mountain. From the South: Cross over the Tapan Zee Bridge. Exit 8A is the Saw Mill River Parkway North. I advice that the tribesmen should carpool since we have to pay a parking fee for this one. And to other fellow tribesmen who's going on this ride post it up now so maybe other tribesmen will get encourage to come ride with us this Sunday when they see that it will be a big turn out !!! Just my two cents. ;D

Don't you guys go to church? I'd love to go but I have to make mass at 10. I haven't been to Blue in a looooooooong time. Never missed a Sunday mass. ;D I tried to start my Sunday ride as early as 7:30 AM and finish by 11:00 AM so I can go to church with my family at noon. If not, we can always go to 6 PM mass. Race day, we usually go to church on Saturday at 5:30 PM since during the race we tend to hang around a little bit longer in the park. Let's go DumboNomad!
