My first day at my new location. I moved from our Manhattan office to Purchase, NY. It's about 11 miles (one way) from home. Took me 58 minutes. There's this one big hill... The first of many commuting days. Anyone else commute to work?

Good for you Greg! I always want to ride my bike to work and save tolls and parking fees in the city. But unfortunately GWBridge open at 6 AM and that will not cut it for me, I need to be in NYU by 6:30 AM. Anyways, keep it up Greg!

Thank you, Jon. I didn't know that GWB was closed to bikes/pedestrians until 6am. There's a way to get from GWB to NYU in 30 minutes.... train harder.

Whew! Got home in 57 minutes. I took what I thought was a shortcut and was greeted by two big hills, one right after the other. They laughed at me and tried to spit me out, but I shifted low, didn't walk, and made it through. Dang! Riding a car has spoiled me.

Nice Greg, keep us posted on your daily ride to work and your progress. I bet you'll make that route a sub 50 minutes ride in no time.

Thank you, all! I had to make today a recovery day. Tomorrow, I have to go back to my old workplace to cover for a co-worker who will be out and then it's back to bike commuting on Thursday. White Plains doesn't seem to be a bike-friendly city. I was the only one commuting on two wheels yesterday. Funny thing is that it's a blind person friendly city. The crosswalks are equipped with devices that chirp when the "walk" signal is on.

54 minutes today! I also found a shortcut that cuts my route down by .9 miles. There's another hill this way, though.

I'm moving offices this week and will only have 1/4 mile to work but sometimes I take the long way by Central Park 2 or three laps. That's a good commute!
