Great ride guys. I truly had fun today. Finally, I was able to ride Bear Mountain! It was great riding with Jon, Moe, Danny, Louie, Erik, Rob, ErwinH and Sergio! Thanks to God that everyone made it home safe and without incident. Winter cycling is really fun if you dress appropriately. Remember that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. The trick is to dress in layers. Base layer should be silk or some wicking material, then wool, and the outer layer a jacket that is warm and windproof. If it's really cold I'll wear more than one layer of wool. That's just me. ;D The learning curve is try what works for you. Below is my Garmin data. I did a little over 100 miles today riding from Queens to Bear Mtn. Man up! The rest of the pictures will be at the picture thread.

good times yesterday boyz! but I think my cut-off for road riding is 40 degrees. Yesterday felt like it was in the 30's with all that wind. BTW, I practically ate everything I could get my hands on last nite when I got home and still hungry . I'm still hungry now and can't wait for lunch time. ;D

Thank you very much everyone for showing up on this SUFFERFEST group rides to Bear Mountain. I think we all got our suffering, I'm not sure about Bigboy and Justluv2fall as those 2 are the only one I didn't hear complained about the cold and/or the amount of climbing we climbed yesterday. Levi thanks for the awesome pictures you took and shared with us and yes all those Century rides that you've been doing are paying off, you kicked me and my Boo's ARSE yesterday. Special thanks to my boo MOE for taking a day off just to come suffer with me, without you I will be alone and lonely at the back. And yes MOE, ALMOST...ALMOST. Without my granny you probably beat me to the top of the mountain. ;D It's funny, after we ate and we gave Moe a 10 minutes head start going back to GWB, the last 15 miles when I caught up with Moe. Moe and I thought every time we saw cars with bike rack flagging the cars and hitch a ride. ;D Again this is probably my last time doing this kinda ride without any prior riding, the last time I rode my road bike was at the BRANDS Cycles' ride and I was really suffering yesterday until now I'm still taking 600 mg of MOTRIN since last night. But I'm glad I did this ride, with all the suffering from the climbing and the cold weather from the ride yesterday...I finished the ride with a smile on my face.

i think this would be a great ride if it was summer time!!! i sweat a lot and that is very cold on my skin. i had to change to two dry base layer, to keep from getting sick!!! now i know to bring extra base layers for the six hour race. @big thankz to bb and erwin for breaking the wind and setting the pace on the up hill!!! if it wasn't for you guyz i would have stopped!!! that last climb to bear mt. was very discouraging, it kept on going up!!! merlin aka mr. century thank you for taking the nice pics!!! can't believe you and "D" started from LIC 59th st bridge!!! @prance thank for getting in front of bb to slow him down, you still got it man !!! @52 thank you for letting me try your siliac friendly pizza, it was very good...just like the real thing!!! @moe great job!!! if you did not sprint ahead of bb twice on the way up to bear mt., you would have had your boo with the 3rd ring on his bike!!!lol @d thank you for keeping me company in traffic on the way home!!! we even saw levi, cute and prance still hammering fast on the GWB!!! ;D @jon thank you for organizing the freezing suffer fest!!! good warm up to 6hr race!!! but thank you guyz for letting me be part of the TRIBE again!!! you guyz are the nicest bunch of people to ride with!!! it is always nice to ride in a group,it is safer and more fun...that is why i joined!!! ;D

Finally I got home from work it's even harder for me to ride the distance and all day but I got to ride whenever I can. I wish I knew about my bearing problem before the ride not during the ride not having choice to swallow it and finish it. Anywho it's always pleasure to ride with mtbnycstyle and @ Rob thanks for the ride 'back home' not Lic

No worries Rob, but I saw you still standing up and put the hammer down when we got to the top. Just like Bigb kept saying he's cramping but instead pedaling faster. I almost believed him. ;D

Great write up guys! Rob you almost made me go to tears with your sentiments. ;D
Let's go to Cathedral Pines on Sunday to familiarize ourselves with the terrain. I only ridden CP 3-4 times in a year and still gets lost in there.
hint: Sunday Nov 14, not too early departure works for me. Just a thought.
