The day started with torrential rain. But i was determined to race b/c i did not finish the waway. ;D My age group lined up at the start line but there was some confusions. The lady who manages the starts said to us that we will start the race together with the 30-34 age group but then a lot of riders complained so she ended up separating us but when the 30-34 started there were 3 guys from our age group who started with them. Anyway she released us also, i started hard and ended up paying the price in last longest climb. No idea they added this very long climb this year, and i walked most of it in my first lap. ;D I was ready to quit when i was walking that climb and just call it a lung mechanical. But then i remembered saying it to Danny at waway. ;D Willy passed me on that climb and i told him go ahead man i'm done. Anyway after that climb i recovered a little, after my 1st lap i decided to pace my self and see what happens on that last highway to heaven. ;D Halfway on my second lap i passed Percy(ECG)single speed and on the last climb i was surprised i did most of it ;D and passed Willy back and a lot of other riders. Ended up taking 7th place. All in all I'm happy with my 7th place today but for sure not satisfied where i placed. ;D My legs was really feeling strong today no cramps what so ever nor bong-king. My problem was my lungs ;D not sure maybe b/c of my allergy, still taking my Allegra pill. My mission is to at least be on the top 5 on the next race, hopefully by then these pollens are gone but then again we'll see a lot of strong riders in my age group. See you guys at Lewis Morris hopefully. Heres my Garmin data: I think this is the reason why road biking is not so effective in MTB'ng, my HR was all over the place. We need to ride more mtbs and do intervals! connect.garmin.com/activity/85919808

Nice Pictures Erwin and Bryan, thanks for sharing. Congrats Bryan for making the deep 5 spots, good job man. Nice job Erwin for not giving up, you'll get them next time. Since I'm out of the country, I forgot to mention it to you about that long climb on the other sides that is always included in CAT 2 but not in CAT 3 and that long climb was always muddy so it makes it a little bit more harder to clear it. Hopefully, you'll climb back up to your standing on the next couple of H2h races.
Good Job Guys! Yap BigB, I'm sure going back to your bike and your training will definitely keep your mind busy.

Nice action pictures. Thanks for sharing. You guys did 2 races already. By now I guess you know where to improve if you really want to do good. But still being there I'd already a big effort. Keep it up boys. Thanks for representing.

I was browsing today and stumble in this HR training zone calculator. This is their website: www.machinehead-software.co.uk/bike/heart_rate/heart_rate_zone_calculator_abcc_bcf.htmlMy garmin data at Tymor, I pretty much stayed in my red zone the whole race. Now my question is if I stayed on my green zone let say half of the race will I finish better than 7th place? I'm sure I would have rode most of the last hill if I did not max out in the first lap but still I have no idea ;D but I'm pretty sure if I do that they are all going to smoke me in the first couple of miles and it's a very painful feeling lol, I'm just not sure if I will be able to catch up with them in the later part. :(I'm going to try it differently at Lewis Morris and let see if I get better results. ;D based on the calculator my MHR is 184 which is what I got in my garmin data. Heres some pics of my calculations from zone 1 to 6, 5 and 6 being the red zone. Btw I was maxing out my hr a lot! No wonder I felt like dying. Lol but my average hr was in the red zone which I think the reason I killed myself and end up walking a lot of uphills which in turn slowed my time?
