So after we (Viking, Rachet, AKAMoe, Jontot and couple of racer) rode the race course this morning in Blue Mountain, I decided that I am in no shape to ride two laps of that race course, so I decided to contact the race event coordinator to put me back to beginners category. It wasn't raining this morning and it wasn't muddy at all but it was a little bit wet and oh those wet roots and rocks, it just took all my energy and confidence. What can I say Moe you just made me look like your biaatch this morning. And to Rachet and Viking sorry to slow you guys down , I was really winded today. The race course is very ridable but there are lots of short and very technical climbs. I think this course is tougher than Ringwood. Anyway, although I was out of it today I had fun. I have a week left to train and to at least make it to the finish line on Sunday. I will see you guys next Sunday, RACE DAY. Hope to see more tribesmen next week. P.S. Heal your wound Rachet and hopefully it gets better before Sunday. And you Viking congrats on your new secret weapon.

It's a really long and tough course, techy with a lot of ups and downs, not a lot of time to recharge. Even the fire roads require concentration because of all the big and loose rocks. Just ask Erwin. I hope your wrist is better today. Here I am with my new baby. ;D First ride was ok, I have to get used to the XL frame and the angled handlebars. Switch to a 20t cog for the race and put on the bottom bracket from my old rig. This one started creaking after 10 miles

hey Viking, after seeing that bike, i got thirsty and ordered an A&W Root Beer - very nice! Good luck with the bike.
anyways, being that it is new, it needs to break in, so things like bottom bracket creaking (usually from loose bottom bracket cups), and things loosening, I believe, is a natural occurance for a new bike. you might wanna go over nuts and bolts, make sure that they are up to spec, before the race. remember, new bikes are put together by mechanics who are too busy to notice things and not enough time to go over stuff. use it in good health and enjoy!
