Rumble in the Jungle, west Milford NJ race # 7

Hey Viking I saw you registered for this race. www.bikereg.com/events/ConfList.asp?EventID=7072 I was thinking of going there this Sunday not to race but to ride the race course. Have you been there yet? I dunno how to get there but I really want to go so maybe you can post it here how to get there. I'll do that as my road trip this Sunday since there's no road trip plan for the tribe as of right now. Whoever wants to come and try the race course let us know here. Who knows I may join the race as my training regiment for BLUE. ;D

It'll be my first time at Jungle Habitat. They say it's similar to Ringwood, but also tight and twisty....hmmm tight, twisty rock gardens Should be interesting. I'll going early for a pre-ride.

Good Luck Viking tomorrow and kick some ass. I should be there early to try the race course but I have to be home by noon so I'm not sure if I'll be able to see you at the end of your race. I will bring my rig tomorrow as I heard that the trail is a little bit flattish. O.K. hopefully I see you tomorrow.

Brutal!! that sums it up. Finished 5th, possibly 6th.

I met Jon and we did a little pre-riding, we agreed that a good description of this trail is: Glacier Ridge trail dumped in Ringwood terrain and then add some more rocks.

The course was just over 7 miles, very tight and I swear 5 miles was rockgardens. All of it completely rideable, just extremely exhausting.

I started far back but moved up fast since I felt pretty strong I then held second place for most part of the first lap, early on the second lap I was third when I really hit the wall, I had to let one guy pass me as I was pushing, very embarrasng and then one more as I took two over-the-bar-spills within a minute. I think my brain checked out just before that ;D Second half of the last lap was just about not giving up.

Nice day and a fun place. Road trip worthy for the tribe later this fall!

Congratulations Viking!

During the start of the race I saw you letting everyone passed you after we talked about getting to the top first before it turns to a long, tight single track and you'll have a hard time passing someone. And then when I was waiting for you guys somewhere between 4 to 5 miles of the course to take photos, I saw your no.1 nemesis all by himself leading the way, I was like "Viking was right that guys was a freaking horse a freaking FAST old horse". Approximately 10 to 15 seconds later I saw you coming, I was like "Go Viking! Catch that horse!" Anyway, I couldn't stay for the finish line cuz I have to go to church. On my way home all I was thinking was if you just stay up, no spill, you'll definitely give that old horse a race.

What happened??? You bonk big time!!! No more gatorade for you, try water next time....joke!

Yup, bonked big time about a quarter in on the second lap

Only water for me, no gatorade during riding, sugar high - sugar crash. I should have put a 19t cog in the back, that definitely would have helped me this time. I also should not have hammered 3 laps in CHP friday night. It was fun though ;D

The guys that finished 2nd and 4th in this race I beat in Ringwood so if I rip it good at Blue I could make the podium
The number one guy is a horse disguised in lycra, I'm not even hoping to beat him

What happened to Danny the Korean guy he was listed MISSING in the result. Did you see him after the race? BTW the guy who finished second was the guy hanging around on your tail in the picture.

Very fast posting of results. I saw Danny as missing, probably lost in the Jungle ;D ;D. Maybe we'll see him at cunny this week.
