I posted this on NYCMTB, but I figured I'd shout out to all the tall flip squad....
I was going to clean up my bike(GF Rig 09 SS 29er) this morning and noticed that the frame had cracked by the seat post junction. It must have happened at the end of my last ride at Blue. It was pretty muddy so I didn't notice when I loaded/unloaded the bike.
I do show a lot of seat post but had over an inch to spare for minimum insertion. The saddle placement was pretty far forward and weighing in at a mere 175 lbs so I'm a little surprised this happened. I took it to the shop and don't expect any trouble with getting it replaced under the warranty. The problem is that I want to race the Darkhorse Gallop on a SS this Sunday, and there's no way I will have it by then. So.....
Does anyone out there have a Large or XL SS to rent or lend for the Gallop?

Wow! Didn't you just break your old one last fall, and got this larger bike? Maybe you should go XXL.

Darn Viking so sorry to hear about your Rig. Good Luck man I hope you'll get a loaner before this Sunday. I know there are bike store rents bikes but I'm pretty sure it's not a single speed.

I got a loaner so I'm good to go. Dropped the bike with Dean at Grand bicycles today, I just don't know how long it will take.
I see you all Sunday. Big turnout!

Sorry about your Rootbeer!
I was just wondering if you still have the old GF (the first one that broke) frame, I know some car shops perform aluminum welds. You may want to look into that. Good Luck!
