Since most of us are around the same height, how many of you guys prefer to have your frame size a Small rather than the Medium. How do you feel about it when riding. Any feelings or thoughts or recommendations would be helpful. Thanks.......

I've always used a medium, and the LBS always recommends a medium. However, I feel more comfortable with a shorter stem (90). Maybe I have shorter arms - dunno?

For me it really depends on what kind of riding you prefer. If you like to do technical stuff (jumps, bunny hops, etc) then get a small frame for it is easier to manhandle the bike coz it has shorter top tube. And if you’re into XC then get a medium frame, for me the longer the top tube the more relaxed I am when I’m standing up going uphill coz of the lengthier top tube (more space to wiggle). Then again small or medium, you can always adjust the stem and saddle to dial up your preferable riding position/style.

Check this out,,this is what I use and the pro's too . lol! Use the sizing chart below to find the right sized mountain bike for you. Knowing your height and inseam measurements, you should be able to determine what size frame will be most comfortable for you. Of the two measurements, height and inseam, inseam is more important. Mountain bikes are generally measured in frame size (inches), which is the distance from the center of the crank to the top of the frame at the seat tube. Mountain Bike Sizing Guide Mountain Bikes - Finding the Right Size Your Height Your Inseam Length Bike Frame Size 4'11" - 5'3" 25” - 27” 13 - 15 inches 5'3" - 5'7" 27" - 29" 15 to 17 inches 5'7" - 5'11" 29" - 31" 17 to 19 inches 5'11" - 6'2" 31" - 33" 19 to 21 inches 6'2" - 6'4" 33" - 35" 21 to 23 inches 6'4" and up 35" and up 23 inches and up

Hey RXR, Frame sizing. You get lucky sometimes. I look at it in a different perspective. If you are truly serious about racing and getting the best performance. Read on. Ever thought about getting your frame custom fitted to you body and perhaps riding style? I know a shop that will do it for you. www.merlinbike.com The process goes like this: Visit your local Dealer ( I went to RBikes.com). Get visual fit and linear fit (I went to SID and Toga bike shops). Send them to Merlin. They then create an approval drawing. You approve/disapprove. They build the frame. Normally, it takes 4-6 weeks and you pay in advance. IMHO, you will not ride any other once you go custom frame build. I hope this helps. --Levi Since most of us are around the same height, how many of you guys prefer to have your frame size a Small rather than the Medium. How do you feel about it when riding.
