Hey guys,
I'm giving up my section at CHP for next year as we have some major projects planned at Highbridge and I plan to put in as many hours as possible up there.
Adopting a section means pruning a few times a year and alerting Mike or an ambassador about fallen trees and other issues that may occur. The section is the North West section. It includes Viper trail and the ringer trail and a new trail in the bowl area. You will get the necessary tools from CLIMB.
I would prefer to hand it to somebody rather than just give it back to Mike. He's got plenty of projects going on.
In addition to giving back to the trails we ride it is also a way to get your paydirt hours for 2010.
Let me know.

I believe one of us here has a section in CHP already and him and I discussed about expanding his section. I just want to make this clear for me and for the rest of the members here, is CHP trailwork is also part of the pay dirt in H2H MTB Race Series? We are thinking of adopting more section for the whole team, do we have to talk to Mike on how "we" as a team can adopt a section in CHP and use all that trail work hours as an official PayDirt? Let me know Viking maybe JB can helps us in that department. Thanks.

Sorry to hear you are giving up your steward position. I am sure we have excellent candidates for stewards here who are dedicted who lives a couple of minutes away. We need someone who is always there at CHP and communicates with CLIMB members. Several members here that I can easily nominate; Jon, Raul, James and Rachet etc...etc...!
CLIMB is having a Holiday Celebration and Elections on Dec 2 at Hilton. Everyone are welcome there. I hope to see most of you there.

It's not a Steward position I'm giving up, only a section that I maintain. I actually don't know if CHP currently has a Steward or Ambassador but this would be a great time to get involved. As for Jon's question; Yes, as long as the work hours are approved and reported to Jorba it will count towards your extra 5th place in the H2H Series. It does not matter if the work is done on a trail that's a part of the series, or not a part of the series(CHP, Stillwell, Highbridge etc) It's all for the better of the overall MTB community. If you plan on doing something collectively for the team I think you should talk to Mike and set something up. I’m sure he would be stoked to get that many hours of guaranteed work done at CHP. If Mike is cool with this my suggestion would be to assign one person from the team to keep track of the hours put in by each individual during the year and have Mike sign it before the deadline in October(and maybe once mid season if necessary). JB has a full plate with HB, Wolfe’s Pond Park etc and since CHP is maintained by CLIMB this should be worked out with Mike. Pruning that jungle in the spring/summer, picking garbage etc could be done without any instructions and is definitely a source of many hours. If you want something more than that, I’m pretty sure Mike would be glad to show you some other tricks on maintaining the trails, like drainage etc. A better standard for the current trails will improve chances for new ones. So get cracking ;D EDIT: here's Jorbas's info site on PayDirt www2.jorba.org/index.php?title=PayDirt

I just found out today, Mike is the Steward in Stillwell and possibly at CHP and other trails. Whoever is interested to adopt, it is of best interest to attend the CLIMB Holiday party tomorrow and talk to the responsible parties. Just a thought. --Levi It's not a Steward position I'm giving up, only a section that I maintain.
