Since Stumpmastah did not show up on our planned ride today, We took a scenic ride from Queens 59th street bridge into NYC and back. If you have not seen Prances' new bike, make no mistake this is a one fast horse. ;D The route: We parked the car in Astoria. Climbed the 59th Street bridge all-the-way to Central Park. Took the loop which I think was 7-8mile inside Central Park. Prance took out some roadies on the long hills. The Loeb Boat House Crossing town: We took the 72nd Street crosstown towards the west side highway and proceed South towards Bowling Green/Battery Park. Passing Intrepid and through Chelsea Piers. Intrepid Going back: At the tip of Manhattan, Battery Park we biked back to the east side bike path along FDR drive. Passing South Street Seaport and stopped just to snap a picture and took a swig of water. South Street Seaport Finally, We passed under the BMW bridges (Brooklyn, Manhattan and Williamsburg Bridge) to 1st Ave and back to climb the 59th Street bridge and back to Astoria. Chute or whoever is interested, this is a 2-3hr Scenic tour of the City. The route is mostly on bike path and no cars which makes for a good uninterrupted flow.
