Diablo - Saturday Aug 14th - I'm contemplating...

Hi all, I have never been there and I am thinking of going there on Saturday using my Nomad. Not sure yet because I have this problem with feathers growing on me once in a while. Anyone interested?

CincoDos, I and some folks I have never met before. There will be about 15 (or more) of us. We will be meeting at the rental shop aroun 8:30 on Saturday. I was advised to rent a bike so I don't have to trash my Nomad - $95 including protective gear and taxes. Besides the Nomad has a broken spoke which I found out yesterday afternoon while joining a guided tour in Sprain. Let me know if you can come. I hope you can.

Recap: (this is the same recap I mentioned in Facebook):

I went downhilling in Diablo Freeride in Vernon NJ yesterday and really had a good time. That was the ultimate adrenaline rush considering that I was in the green beginner's trail most of the time. I ventured in the blue intermediate trails and almost regretted because I almost ate dirt and rocks. Luckily the 8" Fox fork in the front took care of that.

I also met this guy named James in the parking lot while eating lunch and I bumped into him again in the trail just when he regained consciousness after a really nasty fall. He was convinced that he had a concussion because he could not remember what happened. He also had a 2 inch gash above the left elbow which was giving him severe pain. I kept him company until we reach the base of the trail. After Diablo employees patch him up, he told me that he wants to do a couple more lifts. This guy is hard core.

I think we should visit Diablo. It is really a lot of fun. $125 includes bike rental, elbow and shin pads, full face helmet, lift, and taxes. You can bring your own body armor if you want which is highly recommended.

Hey Jeprox I'm glad you had fun as well and did not get hurt in Diablo. Thanks for sharing your experience and hope someday we can set up a big group to go there.
