Don't forget to check out Grand Bicycle at Maspeth and talk to Dean. I bought two bikes from him, my SS and my road bike. As far as the groupo eh you can't go wrong to both Dura Ace or Sram Red. I know couple of friends who have both Dura and Red, all of them are happy to what they have.
Just figure out how much you willing to spend and what brand?

Hey Rob. Check out RACycles.com in Brooklyn. Go to the SALE section. They are the BHPhoto of bicycles! They only specialize in Road Bikes. You cannot go wrong with Dura-Ace or SRAM Red. Likewise with the lower Ultegra 6700 or SRAM Force. I started with Ultegra 6700 prior to upgrading to Dura-ACE 7900 and they both have great shifting performance. Dura-Ace has the edge in braking power, weight and extra bling! Dura-Ace front chainring performance is the best that I have tried. SRAM Red on the other hand, is a little bit more expensive and proves to be really popular in TDF It is slightly lighter than Dura-Ace and shift slightly quicker (rear derailleur). Dura-Ace has an edge on front shifting and soft touch much like Japanese bikes vs Harley. Like the saying, the thrill is in the chase. Good luck and Congrats!

Rob you can't go wrong with Dean he always take the amount that i told you from the msrp. I don't want to write it because it's a top secret for him. Lol! You can get this discount even to the latest and the greatest if you are willing to wait for 2011 models. Good luck man, he also carries other models.
