Hi All,
After riding 1,000mi + on my road bike, I am thinking of replacing my mtb pedals with road pedals. ;D
I like the Speedplay Zero Ti pedals' dual entry and lightweight (160grams pair) but I am open to suggestions. I like to be able to clip in and out on stop lights.
Thanks, --Levi

I have a speedpaly on my bike it's different feel from another pedals. It almost feel like walk on the ice and I have swing out my foot to uncliped. Also it comes with weight limit of 180 lbs. Once I got use to walking on ice I like it a lot. One more pedal is light but hardware for shoes are kinda heavy.

Speedplay has Stainless steel and Chromoly spindles that does not have weight limit. The reason I wanted to switch from CB Eggbeaters is because I feel hot spots pedaling at hard efforts. I hope speedplay helps in that department. I asked John's help of Conrad's Pro Bike Shop in the City www.conradsbikeshop.com/. So once I get my cycling shoes, I would be able to demo several road pedals.

Try look pedals, its the one i'm using and i love it. A little harder to clip off but it's more secure and no movement when hammering. Not really hard to clip off on the road i think.

I use speedplay X titanium and so far so good. I have no complaints regarding clipping in and out. One of the thing I like also about this pedal is the maximum float range. It is good for your knees in regards to lateral rotation especially if your riding long distances.

It looks like the majority here favors Speedplay pedals. I am just waiting delivery of my new carbon road shoes then I can start doing "test ride". Thanks guys for the input.

Levi if you're used to crank bros. pedals then i think prancing pedals suggestion will be the right one for you. Personally I don't like my feet to move when I'm pedaling especially when I'm tired and my brain is starting to disconnect with my feet. Lol! Anyway good luck and keep riding.

Thanks Erwin. I know, pedals like saddles are personal thing. What works for me might not work for you.
I am going to try both. Conrad's has test ride for both Speedplay and Look pedals.

I agree with Erwin Looks pedal are one the best for me, it give you confedence when you need to hammer it and when you need to stand on your pedals.
