Nice pre-ride today with akaOldDawgMoe, jusluv2bike and few of our friends from mtbnj, thnaks for leading us. Jusluv2bike you're monster on your single speed, you definitely will create a wave in CAT 3 (30-39) you'll give all of your fellow CAT a run for their money... Good for mtbNYCstyle tho! ;D

We did the 2009 race course this morning. The course is fun and fast but somewhat technical as far as rocks goes but not as rocky as Wawayanda, Jungle Habitat or Ringwood. There were few short power climbs that if you have momentum you won't even noticed the climb...maybe on the second and third lap we will all notice it but definitely not on your first lap. Oh yeah, the last climb toward the end is the longest and steepest but Rob aka jusluv2bike who rode his SS 32X18 seems not bothered by it as he just hammered and climb it like he was in CHP. Most of the technical part of the course I noticed were during the fast descents and if you're not careful enough you can easily wipe out (endo). As far as recommended tires, please don't use those very light tires or thin sidewall (eg. stans crow) as there are lots of sharp rocks sticking out on some sections of the race course that can easily rip the sidewall of your tires. Over all I think this will be another fast and fun race and looking forward to the race. Merlin: I can't give you my Garmin data as we got lost a few times but I found these on the web that you can upload it on your Garmin. 09 Race Courseconnect.garmin.com/activity/904119308 Race Courseconnect.garmin.com/activity/16504174
