Cunningham Trail Closures March 28th - 30th Hi Folks, NYC Parks may be spraying herbicide on invasive plants along the "green apple" trail in the SW quadrant of the park this Monday the 28th. It should take two days to spray all the invasive plants. They will not be spraying the entire area, just selectively spraying the targeted invasive plants. Most likely they will be spraying "round up" or some other glyphosphate systemic; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roundup_(herbicide) They will post signs 48 hours in advance at the trail's beginning to indicate it is closed, please don't remove the signs or enter the area until it's safe. Only the "green apple" trail is affected by this closure, it's the first blue trail on the west side and is the longest trail in the park. The herbicide signs state that sprayed areas will be unsafe to enter for approximately 72 hours after treatment. I will update you as I receive notice...
