Nice Sushi! I would like to try this maybe someday. Can we just go there with you and swim for fun?
Oh yeah by the way, remember Eva aka RoadieEva here in our forum, the only girl who rode with us to my house for quick burger bite. She made the cut for the IRONMAN KONA this year for the first time. She will be racing with Lance Armstrong for the second time.

Thanks Jon! Oranges should definitely try and do Triathlon. You don't have to be a good swimmer as long as you can finish before the cutoff time and biking and running which I know you already mastered will be like peanuts. Why not, let's have our first swimming meet before or after our Bear Mt ride. As for Eva, qualifying for Ironman Kona in Hawaii is every triathlete's dream. Good luck to her and Godspeed.

The swim is the easiest part of an Ironman. You have 2:20 hours complete it. I am a horrible swimmer and I was still was able to do it in 1:43. At my pace, people doing back stroke can pass me easily. Remember that you will be swimming with a websuit which makes it very easy as it keeps you aflote.

tavo. Whoa! Whoa! Hold on, you mean a websuit like what spider man wears? Dang man no idea that thing will make you float. No wonder spidey... Btw I thought that thing will make you sink and heavy.

I had a blast on my 2.4 mile swim race yesterday. I know that triathlon wetsuits will help you swim faster and keep you warmer. Better floatation, drag reduction - the wetsuit should put your body in a great swimming position. I decided to go little bit extreme and tested my limits without wearing a wetsuit. Outside temperature was 62 degrees, so I figured water temp will be around 55. I just hoped to finish before before 1:30 and glad that I did it in 1:24:24.

2.4 miles and WITHOUT a wetsuit. Wow, now that's open water swimming. My hat is off to you man. It's hard enough for me to swim that distance in the ocean with full wetsuit, booties, gloves, the works. Can't even imagine doing it without one. You ARE the man!!!!
