Yesterday I heard a loud bang that came from the garage. When I investigated the source of that sound, I was surprised to see my 29er front tire disengaged from the rim with the tire sealant all over the place I remember last Tuesday I rode my mtb from my place to the park, putting 48psi air on both tires (58psi max). First time I've seen these cause of exploding tires? What was the cause? Too much air pressure? Extreme hot weather? Or both?

Probably combination of both heat and air pressure. Also take into account the condition of the tire and the rim/strip causing it to rot and weaken. Inspect the tire if the sidewalls are ripped or if it simply slipped off the rim.

my rear tire blew on me when i was riding in moab years ago, the heat from hot rocks cooked the tire and the rim to poped the tire right off..
