Pls. save the date, July 29, 2012. Wheelsdown 6:30 AM to noon. I will post the directions to the parking place soon. Route: 65 miles with 6,300 accumulated elevation feet. This is a no drop ride we will regroup at every top of the hills. It will be a relax pace with few stops for photo ops and a cup of coffee. The group leader will print cue sheet for the final route for everyone to have. Note: To the B to A+ riders here, this will be a relax pace, so please be patient with the pace of this ride. And to C to C+ riders that plan to join, it will be a relax pace but it consist of 6,300 accumulated elevation feet in less than 70 miles. Just putting this so there will be no surprises to all levels here. Tentative route: ridewithgps.com/routes/1412773

From the group ride leader this Sunday:
"how many of your group are showing up? Tell them its an easy pace. But they can sprint up the segments if they want to as long as they wait for us once they reach the top of the climbs. See u Sunday."
Let me know who is going with me for this scenic relax pace ride this Sunday so I can let the group ride leader know. So far I have Wolverine, D, RXR and Bigboy and maybe my Boo.

Updated Route for this Sunday's scenic ride. ridewithgps.com/routes/1451907From the Group Ride Leader, Mariano Gaviola: "I updated the route for Sunday July 29 in order to avoid commuter traffic. 630am. Meeting place is Gate Hill Rd and Rt 106. Jon Abragan. Rodney Rubi. Rodrigo Rubi Dino Mercado. Park at any vacant area as soon as you make the right turn to 106 from Gate Hill Rd. Directions: Palisades Parkway North Exit 15. Right at exit ramp. Crossover bridge(you will go over the Palisade Pkwy). Right turn at the end. This is a fun pace with re groups. no drop. For those who want to have a workout--Go up the hard on the segments I will be posting. Then wait---WAIT!!! at the top or come down and do it again lol. We dont want to lose you!" From Mariano Gaviola: "Here are the climbs: 1) Short 106 climb--starts at the Lake Welsch circle to 106 circle on 7Lakes Rd. There is a fast downhill--right before the circle they repaved this just this past week and didnt bridge the joint well at one area so BE VERY CAREFUL 2) 7 Lakes Rd--starts at 106 circle to Tiorati circle nice long rolling hills about 3 miles. Nice newly paved road. 3) Perkins from Bear Mtn North 2 miles. You guys know this area well so no need to explain. 3) Storm King (has 2 segments) about 4 miles total. 4)Rt 293--just past Storm King-- a long gradual uphill at about 7-8% grade 5) 7 Lakes Rd from Palisades Circle--about 4.5 miles long. nice gradual hill. not steep. some rollers in between. 6) Rt 106 from 106 circle to Lake Welsch(the reverse of the 1st climb). Here are the re group points: 1) at the tops of each of those hills mentioned. 2) Full stop at Cold Springs--about mile 28th--you make a LEFT on Main Street all the way to the river. You dont want to miss this view. 3) Newburgh Beacon Bridge-wait for everyone to cross before you hammer on the other side of the bridge!!!. 4) Storm King at the top area! You dont want to miss this view. After this is the 2nd segment of the climb. 5) THE MOST IMPORTANT RE GROUP!!--End of Rt 293 and Start of Rt 6---you will head EAST!!! Traffic is very tricky on this corner and it will be a merging road--preferrably we merge the road as a group--cars will be merging this road at 50mph. 6) Tiorati circle Jon Abragan's group have fast riders. for those who want to get a good workout you are welcome to hammer it with them at those segments. We will have an A/B+, B, B- group. Please print and copy the regroup points. I will assume responsibility for all the riders so please dont get lost. IMPORTANT: 1) After you cross Bear Mountain Bridge-Make a Left on Rt 9D--thats all you have to follow until you see the bike path on Newburgh Beacon Bridge. 2) On the other side of the bridge--follow the road that will take you to River Rd--its the only Rd right next to the Hudson River--Head South!!! please. 3) After River rd you will go to 9W south--on a very short route--DO NOT FORGET TO EXIT TO Rt 218. 4) Just follow Rt 218 and it will take you to Storm King Mtn. 5) Rt 293 and Rt 6 East Intersection is dangerous merging..be careful. 6) Rt 6 East downhill---there is a huge crate and pothole on the right side on the fast downhill--be careful--you will be making the right turn at 7Lakes Rd. Jon's group will also have some B- riders. Its a big group=lots of fun. So come out on Sunday guys"
